Education for Ministry

CHANGE YOUR LIFE
THROUGH EDUCATION FOR MINISTRY  (EFM)

Discover an excellent way to enrich your life in a small group setting through EFM. This program is a good place to ask hard questions about God and for a deeper grounding in the Christian faith, all with the support of others who are searching to expand their knowledge and understanding in an atmosphere of trust.

Education for Ministry 2010Participants in the EFM program study the entire sweep of the Christian tradition from the earliest period to the present. Participants learn the disciplines of biblical exegesis and interpretation, church history, ethics and liturgics. Through study, prayer and reflection, EFM groups move towards a new understanding of the fullness of God’s kingdom. Participants are given weekly assignments to study with the help of resource guides. In the seminars members have the opportunity to share insights and discoveries as well as to discuss questions which the materials raise for them. EFM is a program of theological education by extension from The School of Theology, University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.

Students sign up one year at a time for this four-year program. A new group will be forming in September, 2010. We meet in the Walker building from September through May for 3 hours on Tuesday evenings. Tuition of $340 per year is required ,payable each year,  scholarship help is available.
