“When I came to EYC, I was welcomed with open arms. I had never seen teenagers behave so well. They were all so polite and fun to hang out with. Plus, when food is served, it's delicious. After playing ping pong or foosball, everyone sits on this huge couch. Then, someone reads a bible passage and we discuss it. After the bible passage, we pray.”

The Saint James Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is for youth from the 6th to the 12th grades; we socialize, play ping-pong, and eat! We also learn about Jesus as revealed in Scripture and Tradition. These lessons are drawn from The Living the Good News curriculum published by Morehouse. In the past the EYC has gone rock climbing and canoeing, taken mission trips, and attended pool parties. Be a part of the future!
When: We meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Where: In the Youth Building
Manna House serves hot balanced, nutritious lunches every single day to anyone who walks in the door - no questions asked. It relies on volunteers and donations from the community with no assistance from the government. On Sunday, November 13, the youth helped prepare and serve the food, along with cleaning the tables and mopping the floors.
The EYC volunteers twice a year at the Manna House. It is an amazing experience to see our youth feeding the hungry in our community.

On Sunday 10/9, those who drove to church with a dirty car had the opportunity to drive home with a clean one thanks to the youth. They were raising funds for a foreign mission trip for the summer of 2012 - destination yet to be determined. . The car wash earned over $600.

Attention Youth - Grades 9 - 12

The Diocese of Western Louisiana offers weekend and spiritual development opportunities for youth at Camp Hardtner throughout the year.
Past event - The Bishop's Ball is for all high school and college age youth in the Diocese of Western Louisiana. It was held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church on Horseshoe Drive in Alexandria on February 12th.

Happening is a Christian experience designed to bring high school youth to a fuller personal know-ledge of, and a personal relationship with, the Lord Jesus Christ and to a deeper level of commitment and apostleship. Several of our youth attended the HAPPENING week-end at Camp Hardtner on January 21 - 23. It was a great experience, and obviously a lot of fun!
