A year or so ago, my wife and I were asked if we would like to participate in the greeters program at the 10:30 service. I agreed to the request, not as a helpful parishioner, but reluctantly, concluding it was my obligation to support this ministry in the church. Surprisingly, I enjoyed my first tour of duty and now look forward to “our turn.” Unexpected rewards can come from simple acts of stewardship.
