Youth St. James Episcopal Church and School

Children

By virtue of our baptismal vows, we are called to assist one another and ourselves in growing, sustaining and learning the ways of our Christian faith.

Programs to support that include Sunday Christian Education (with nursery care), Wednesday Faith and Fellowship, Episcopal Youth Community, Youth Confirmation, and Adult Formation.

Sunday Christian Education Children's Sunday School - 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. Nursery is provided free for children under
kindergarten age from 9:15 through the end of church.

The program this year is for elementary and intermediate ages (grades 1 - 5). Weaving God's Promises is an engaging program created specifically for Episcopal children. Its primary principals are to teach children 1) How God's promises of salvation are woven into our lives and 2) The way of Christ, not only in the church, but also in the world as Christ's ambassadors. It is designed to foster the spiritual formation and growth of our children in Christ's love and mercy and to teach the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation. Theological and historical information on our Anglican/Episcopal history and heritage is part of every section.

EPISCOPAL YOUTH COMMUNITY (EYC)

The Saint James Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is for youth from the 6th to the 12th grades.

We socialize, play ping-pong, and eat! We also learn about Jesus as revealed in Scripture and Tradition. These lessons are drawn from The Living the Good News curriculum published by Morehouse. In the past the EYC has gone rock climbing and canoeing, taken mission trips, and attended pool parties.  Be a part of the future!

When:   We meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Where:  In the Youth Building
