The Episcopal Youth Community (EYC)
invites you to come and see.

A note from the Webmaster
It's really not the Webmaster's role to write commentary about web content, but in this case, I'm going to because I can.

The service on Youth Sunday was so moving to me.  Seeing and hearing our youth as they "shared Christ" made this service one of the most meaningful worship experiences I have ever had.  Some of their singing brought tears of joy to my eyes.  Hearing them speak so eloquently and honestly about their experiences at St. James in worship and in Youth Group, hearing them share God's word, and seeing them ushering and greeting helped me realize how blessed we are to have this fine group of young people as part of this faith community.  Father Fred summed it up so well when he said that "we often say that the youth are the future of the church, but the youth are the church!"

My personal thanks to each of the youth, to their parents, and to the advisors to the Youth Group.

 Youth Sunday-2011
On Sunday, 10/23, the youth of St. James and their friends assumed the roles often allotted to the adults of our parish. Greeters, ushers, and lector roles were assumed by the Youth, and three of our youth addressed the congregation in very moving and meaningful ways. Music was led by the youth (with Ms. Marie’s assistance, of course!). Several special songs were sung by the youth. Coffee hour followed the service in the Youth Building. It was a joyous experience!!!

Enjoy the photos on this page and view and listen to video extracts from the service.
